Privacy Policy

The short version
Rocko Ball is a free game for everyone, kids and grown-ups alike. There are no sign-ups and no ads, and we don't collect personal information about anyone. Your stars, scores and settings stay in your own browser. Players never get a cookie, and we don't use analytics or trackers. The only exception is the optional Arena leaderboard for players 13 and up: if you choose to connect it, your Endless scores are sent to Rocko's World.
Rocko Ball (“the Game,” rockoball.com) is part of Rocko's World and is operated by Rocko's World (“we,” “us”). We care about everyone's privacy, and especially children's, because kids play too. This policy explains exactly what we do and don't collect.
What we don't collect
We never ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, photos, logins or locations. There are no profiles, no chat and nothing for anyone to post. We don't keep play statistics about you. We don't sell or share personal information, because we don't have any.
What stays on your device
To make the Game nicer, it saves a few things in your browser's local storage:
- the levels you've reached, your stars and best scores, and your best Endless round,
- your hints, the balls you've unlocked and picked, and a fort you built yourself,
- your settings (sound and music on or off and their volumes, difficulty, the scene you picked), and
- only if you connect the Arena leaderboard:
rocko_arena:rocko-ball, a random Arena key plus your Arena name and icon (see below).
Apart from that Arena key, this stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can remove it anytime by clearing your browser's data for this site.
Cookies
Players never get a cookie. The only cookie this site can ever set is a small “rbl_peek” cookie for the site's owner. When the Game is briefly down for maintenance, the owner opens a private link that sets it, so they can check the real site before reopening it. It holds only a random code, isn't used for tracking and isn't shared.
The Arena leaderboard (optional, 13 and up)
Players 13 and up can put their Endless scores on the leaderboard at rockosworld.com/arena. It is off unless you turn it on: the link on the Endless game-over card goes through the grown-ups check, and you connect by signing in to a Rocko's World account there and choosing a display name. Once connected, the Game keeps a random Arena key in your browser and, at the end of each Endless run, sends your score to rockosworld.com. Nothing else is sent: no name, email or anything about you, and the board shows only the display name and icon you chose. Until you connect, the Game never contacts the Arena. Tap “disconnect” on the game-over card to stop, and the key is deleted. The Arena is covered by the Rocko's World privacy policy.
Links that leave the Game
Every link to another website (like the Rocko's World badge or the Arena) first asks a grown-up a quick question, so little ones don't wander off the site by accident. The question is made up in your browser; nothing is saved or sent.
Checking for a new version
While the Game is open, it asks our server every so often whether a newer version is available, so it can offer an “Update now” button. That request contains no information about you; it simply downloads a small file listing the latest version number.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts the Game. Like any web host, it processes your connection (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the Game from attacks.
The Game's lettering (the Fredoka, Nunito and Baloo fonts) is served from our own site, so no font company sees your visit.
We don't use analytics services, advertising trackers or social-media pixels.
Advertising
There are no ads in the Game today. If we ever add any, we will only use kid-appropriate, non-personalized ads with no tracking or profiling of children, and we'll update this policy before any ads appear.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
The Game is for everyone, and children play it too. In keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect personal information from children under 13, or from anyone else. Because nothing we keep identifies a child, there is nothing for a parent to review or delete. If you think a child has somehow sent us personal information (for example, by emailing us), contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top. If we ever change how we handle children's information, we'll make the change clear here first.
